• Property law: all forms of property transactions including acting for lessors and lessees, purchasers and vendors; easements, restrictive covenants and other agreements relating to land, and development
• Carbon sequestration, tree plantations and related agreements
• General commercial and business law including acting for buyers and sellers of property and businesses

He is on the Board of Aquinas College and Catholic Homes Inc (WA).

He is interested in most sports and a life member of the University of Western Australia Rugby Union Club.

Michael enjoys, and has a surprisingly good memory for, Australian poetry, and skilfully applied his knowledge of the Yerkes-Dodson law to become the Australian Sudoku Champion at the National Titles in Brisbane in August 2011.
